​Studio Policy & Registration

Greetings and welcome to Delight Piano Studio and Delight Music School! In this outline you will find information about procedures and policies of the studio and related topics. Please take a few moments to carefully review the contents.

REGISTRATION
We provide the following lessons:

Piano / Violin / Guitar / Ukulele / Flute / Voice / Drum / Brass Instruments / Group Class

When you register for lessons you are making a commitment for the entire school year and you are agreeing to the following Studio Policies:

LESSON RATES
Lesson fee for the 2023-2024 school year are: 
$32 for a 30-minute lesson
$48 for 45-minute lesson
$64 for 60-minute lesson​
Senior teachers for advanced students are available; please contact us for a rate and to schedule an audition

Lesson is based upon enrollment for 40 weeks of private instruction (September - June). Tuition fees can be paid in full for the entire lesson year or monthly instalments throughout the school year. 
The lesson can begin at any time during the year, and we will prorate the lesson fee based on the month of enrollment.

Summer lessons for July & August are also available. 

Lesson fee includes two recitals every year.

PAYMENTS
The lesson fee is paid by monthly instalments, please select one of these monthly rates according to the lesson you have registered for:
For 30-minute lessons: $128
For 45-minute lessons: $192
For 60-minute lessons: $256

PAYMENT METHODS
Cash

Debit Card: There is a 1% processing fee applied. 
E-Transfer: delightmusicschool@gmail.com
Cheques: Post-dated cheques should be dated for the 1st of the month and made payable to “Delight Music School”.
A $25 fee will be charged for NSF cheque. 

​Credit Card: ​There is a 3% processing fee applied.  
All fees for lessons are paid monthly—in advance—one week before each new month.

If lessons begin part way through a scheduled month, fees will be pro-rated appropriately.

ATTENDANCE, MISSED LESSONS AND MAKE-UP LESSONS
Regular attendance of lessons is an issue of responsibility and choice on the part of parents and students.
Please notify us of a lesson cancellation a minimum of 24 hours prior to lesson time. 

CANCELLATIONS

-- No make-up lessons will be made if students come late for lessons.

-- A minimum of 24 hours notice MUST be given if you wish to cancel OR reschedule a lesson.

-- Any cancelled lessons that are not notified within 24 hours will result in you being charged for the lesson, with no make-up lesson.
*** Please understand that we cannot plan for other activities, lessons or work in this short amount of time. Therefore, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. ***

Teacher Cancellation
-- In the event that your teacher is unable to teach due to illnesses or other emergencies, a substitute teacher will be assigned. If we are unable to provide a sub, your lesson will be made up individually with either your teacher or another studio teacher.

Make-up lessons:
-- Make-up will be provided by your teacher of another studio teacher, we will try our best to accommodate your wishes if more notice is given.
-- If you have decided on a lesson time that continually conflicts with another activity and needs to be changed for more than one week, we will try our best to accommodate a permanent change.
-- Lessons MUST BE made up in the summer if you will be missing any. We will make every effort to try to reschedule but cannot guarantee a make-up and there WILL NOT be a refund if lessons cannot be made up. Tuition is still due if students take off for vacation. The studio will be closed on public holidays and tuition will be taken off.

TERMINATION OF LESSONS
We require one month's notice and an email from the parent.

PHOTO AND VIDEO RELEASE
Pictures and videos of our students may be use as learning tools, business promotions and advertising.
